Level 1: Hurl Pickaxe - Bofur hurls his pickaxe at the target enemy, damaging and knocking back all units near to the target. Bofur can collect his pickaxe from the area he threw it at to immediately reuse the ability, or wait 60 seconds for the pickaxe to be returned to him. The ability cannot be used while the pickaxe is on the ground.
Level 7: Chain Quake - Bofur triggers an earthquake which moves to the selected enemy building and deals heavy damage. Enemy units and structure in the path of the earthquake take minor damage and units are knocked to the ground.
The Bofur can be given the following upgrades:
Veterans Required: Mithril Coat - Requires some veterans to be sent into a Dwarven Forge. Dwarven heroes will then have the ability to purchase the Mithril Mail upgrade for 500 resources. The Mithril Mail gives Dwarven heroes extreme resistance to all damage.
Summon Bofur's brother and Bifur's cousin, Bombur. He will cook for nearby allied units which will heal them when they are close to him. Bombur will not move from where he was summoned.
Level 3: Provisions - Bombur always carries provisions. Heals nearby allied units.
Summon Bifur, the cousin of Bofur and Bombur. Bifur will guard Bombur for a short duration when he is summoned onto the battlefield. Bifur will not follow Bofur but will instead walk around Bombur to protect him.
- Bifur: 4500 health, 150 melee damage
Although Bofur isn't the most powerful hero for Ered Luin, he still has quite a few uses. Like all dwarven heroes, he can be upgraded with Mithril for more armour in the late game. Once he reaches level 7, he becomes a strong building destroyer with his final ability. Until then, Bofur can mainly be used for general disruption. His pickaxe doesn't do a lot of damage to heroes but can be very useful for knocking heroes and single units (like trolls) to the ground where Bofur or other units can deal high damage. Tremor works in the same way but disrupt an entire army, causing even more chaos. Thanks to its speed debuff, the enemy army will take even more losses from your forces. Bifur and Bombur should just be used in large fights to support your army by letting them last even longer.
