"But beyond, in the great fief of Belfalas, dwelt Prince Imrahil in his castle of Dol Amroth by the sea, and he was of high blood, and his folk also, tall men and proud with sea-grey eyes."
—The Return of the King
Dol Amroth was a city in South Gondor on the coast. Their princes were thought to have elven blood from the elven refugees who once lived in that area. In the War of the Ring, the Prince of Dol Amroth, Imrahil, led some soldiers and knights to the aid of Minas Tirith. Imrahil served as Steward of Gondor for a time after the death of Denethor, since Faramir was still in the Houses of Healing. Imrahil and Dol Amroth, along with the rest of Gondor, later officially recognized Aragorn as their rightful king once Sauron was defeated.
