Elfhelm was a nobleman of Rohan in Theoden's court with the title of Marshal. He commanded the éored in which Merry and Dernhelm (Eowyn) rode to Minas Tirith. He can be recruited at the King's Camp where he can then be upgraded with one of various battalions. He is very weak on his own, but once he has been upgraded, he can become very versatile. He is very similar to Grimbold, Erkenbrand and the Rohan Captain.
Abilities
Mount - Elfhelm can mount his horse (only available before purchasing a battalion of Meduseld)
Marshal of Rohan - Nearby units are fearless. (Passive ability)
Any Troop Upgrade: Field Medicine - Elfhelm's emergency field medicine replenishes 1 lost member for every nearby allied battalion. Left click to activate.
Upgrades
Elfhelm can be given one of the following upgrades:
Soldiers of Meduseld - Call a battalion of Soldiers of Meduseld to serve as elite Swordsmen.
Wardens of Meduseld - Call a battalion of Wardens of Medused to serve as elite Pikemen.
Knights of Meduseld - Call a battalion of Knights of Meduseld to serve as elite Cavalry.
Once an upgrade above is chosen a new series of upgrade is unlocked which can be all purchased (Horse Shield is only available if Knights of Meduseld was chosen). Template:Upgrades
Strategy
The strategy you use with him depends on the situation, for example, what faction you are up against, this is due to his special use of 3 different Upgrades which give him 3 different kinds of elite units. The Cavalry could be used for spammy factions or factions with many archers, the Swordsmen to counter enemy Pikemen or the Pikemen for Cavalry based Factions like Rohan.. Also once he dies and you revive him he is able to re-choose the battalion he will lead. Elfhelm also makes nearby battalions fearless and can also replenish one unit of them with his active power.
