The Mineshaft is a Dwarven resource building which can be built at a main base and also on outpost plots and settlements. Mineshafts are connected and allow troops to move between them, and reduce the cost of unit upgrades.
Level Up Upgrades Edit
You can upgrade this building only twice. The first time you must choose one of the first three upgrades, and the second time you must choose one of the second three upgrades.
Resource Production Edit
The Mineshaft is a basic resource building.
The Mineshaft has the unique ability of being garrisonable (up to 5 battalions). Units garrisoned in a Mineshaft enter a tunnel network which connects all Mineshafts built by the player on the map, meaning they can exit from any Mineshaft.
The Mineshaft provides a reduction to the cost of unit upgrades up to 30%:
- 2 Mineshafts: 10%
- 3 Mineshafts: 15%
- 4 Mineshafts: 20%
- 5 Mineshafts: 25%
- 6 or more Mineshafts: 30%
Furthermore, a level 3 Mineshaft will grant the Hall of Warriors +1 level and +50% training speed (Quality Ore).

Summonable Mineshaft Edit
The Dwarves also have a spellbook ability, Undermine (3pp), to summon a mineshaft almost anywhere on the map as long as it is within the line of sight of an allied unit or structure. This mineshaft does not generate resources; it only taps into the tunnel network, allowing for more mobility at the cost of resource production. The main purpose of the summoned mineshaft is for ambushing unsuspecting foes: for example, put it near an enemy base you are assaulting and constantly send reinforcements from a mineshaft in the safety of your own base.
